InterFood Astana 2014: Food Forum for Professionals

From 16 through 18 April 2014, Korme Exhibition Centre in Kazakhstan's capital Astana will host the 16th Kazakhstan International Exhibition of "Foodstuffs, Drinks, Ingredients, Packaging and Equipment for the Food Industry", InterFood Astana 2014. The Project is being held with the support of the Republic of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Agriculture, the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Astana Chamber of Trade and Commerce.

The InterFood Astana 2014 exhibition is made up of sections on: foodstuffs; food additives and ingredients; alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, tea, and coffee; equipment used to prepare food products, beverages and containers; packing technologies, casing and packaging; refrigeration and commercial equipment; processing equipment for the food industry and equipment for supermarkets, cafés, bars and restaurants.

The InterFood Astana 2014 will represent over 70 companies from 12 different countries: Belarus, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.

The exhibition annually demonstrates stable growth in the number of Kazakhstani companies, which will make up 47% of all exhibitors, 27% were foreign companies from non-CIS countries and 26% were CIS and former Soviet bloc countries.

The Chinese National Team will be represented at InterFood Astana 2014 for the first time. At their team stand, the Chinese manufacturers will sample various kinds of teas: green, black, red, white, yellow and many others. During the show, the 11 best tea companies will give a presentation on An Hua Chinese dark tea.

The specialized chemical company, Nalco, which develops, produces, implements and provides maintenance support for chemical reagent treatment programs, is also showcasing its experience in working with the technologies making up enterprise water, air and power systems for food industry producers.

New items will be introduced at InterFood Astana 2014 by Riv-Pak, the leading company on Russia's market in the production of paper products for HORECA and fast food companies. Among other exhibitors at the tradeshow, the German company Rabenhorst, which specializes in the sale of direct squeeze juices and their compatriots, the company KHS GmbH, with their wide selection of dispensing equipment for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in addition to innovative solutions and technologies in the drink industry will also have booths. Complete projects for dairy plants and factories processing vegetables and fruits into juices, pastes, and powders will be presented by the company ICF & Welko Spa.

At InterFood Astana 2014, innovations will be presented in the baking and candy industries. For instance, Makiz Ural company, which will be presenting its energy-conserving Revent oven, Favorite-Techno Company. Over 250 types of products will be shown by one of Kazakhstan's largest candy producers, Bayan Sulu.

A key event at InterFood Astana 2014 is the professional taste contest for grocery products and drinks—the Traditions of Quality Awards. The winners will be presented with gold medals and certificates and obtain the right to include the medal's logo on the label of the winning product. By taking part in the taste contest, producers can confirm the quality of the products made via special distinguishing marks, which increases customer trust in their goods.

The organizers of the event are the Kazakhstani exhibition company Iteca together with its international partners ITE Group Plc (Great Britain), ITE China (China) and Gima (Germany).
