Kazakhstani companies to form the backbone of InterFood Astana 2013

InterFood Astana 2013, the most established food industry exhibition in the Kazakhstan capital, will take place from 17 to 19 April 2013 at the Korme Exhibition Centre.

Domestic participants are at the foundations of the event – 44% of all exhibitors are from Kazakhstan, with 29% from Russia, 4% from the CIS and the remaining 16% from other countries.

This 15th edition of InterFood Astana will feature around 100 exhibitors from 12 countries: Belarus, Germany, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Thailand, Ukraine and France.

InterFood Astana offers a comprehensive presentation of the food industry – from food products themselves to production technologies and equipment. The exhibition will feature a wide range of food, drinks and ingredients; equipment for pasta production, meat processing and fruit and vegetable processing; and equipment for semi-processed products. Steam and air autoclaves will also be on display for sterilisation, pasteurisation and cooking of various products, and so will equipment for refrigeration, storage, packaging and labelling.

Bakery and confectionery equipment will also be widely presented, with large displays from leading companies Favourite-Techno and Makiz Ural.

An extensive business programme of events will take place at InterFood Astana, including exhibitor seminars and presentations. The KazUPack Astana 2013 round table will also be held by Yam International, and discussions will centre around the cost efficiency and environmental friendless of flexible packaging.

Another key event at the exhibition will be the food and drink tasting competition entitled the Tradition of Quality. A judging panel chaired by Yuri Sinyavskiy, Vice-President of the Kazakhstan Academy of Food, will assess the entries, with the winners receiving gold medals, certificates and the right to use the competition logo on the packaging of the winning products.

The 2nd Dela Ruk Astana culinary festival will take place during InterFood Astana 2013, with competitions assessed by world-class judging panels. The festival, organised by Astana Restaurants, is a meeting place for restaurateurs, hoteliers and pastry chefs –everyone interested in the newest trends of the hotel and restaurant business and the latest developments in culinary art. A host of tasting sessions and masterclasses will be held at the festival.
